【原形态】
驴，体型比马小，体重一般200kg左右。驴肉的头型较长，眼圆，其上生有1对显眼的长耳。颈部长而宽厚，颈背鬃毛短而稀少。躯体匀称，四肢短粗，蹄质坚硬。尾尖端处生有长毛。驴的体色主要以黑、栗、灰三种为主。中国着名的品种关中驴，体型高大，繁殖力强。
【生境分布】
- 生态环境：驴性情较温驯，饲养管理方便，饲料粗劣。主要以麦秸、谷草为食，也吃高粱、大麦、豆类。
- 资源分布：中国北部地区均有饲养。
